An accomplished listee, Mr. Brady celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Brady, a fourth generation Washingtonian, is a retired lawyer of more than 40 years who specialized in international patents and trademarks, forming his first private practice as a patent, trademark and copyright attorney in Washington, D.C. and Maryland in 1961. In 1963, together with two of his engineering classmates from Catholic University, who had also become patent attorneys, he was the founding senior partner of the firm of Brady, O'Boyle & Gates in Washington, D.C. and later in Chevy Chase, MD, specializing in intellectual property law, where he represented clients for 32 years. In 1996 he began serving as of counsel with Birch, Stewart, Kolasch & Birch, LLP in Falls Church, Virginia, concluding his career in 2004. In retirement he and his wife have traveled extensively throughout the world.

Earning a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering at The Catholic University of America in 1953, and being certified as an engineer-in-training that same year by the District of Columbia Board of Registration for Professional Engineers, Mr. Brady began working as an electrical engineer with Sperry Gyroscope Company in Great Neck, Long Island, NY, where he became a technical representative to the Strategic Air Command (SAC) at March Air Force Base, Riverside, CA, 320th Bomb Wing (15th AF) for the Sperry K-Bombing/Navigation System on a squadron of 15 B-47 Stratojets, which were the first swept-winged jet bombers. Later as a Sperry field engineer he was a participant in Operation Redwing, the 1956 atomic tests at Eniwetok and Bikini in the Pacific Proving Grounds, operating in Hawaii, Palmyra and Midway Islands.

Combining his love for engineering with law, he then completed a Doctor of Jurisprudence at Georgetown University Law Center shortly thereafter in 1959, and quickly began advancing in the field of law. He was admitted to practice as a Patent Agent before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in 1959; admitted to the Bar of MD, registered to practice as an Attorney before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and admitted to the U.S. Court of Customs and Patent Appeals in 1961; admitted to the D.C. Bar in 1962, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit in 1964, the Supreme Court of the U.S.A. in 1969, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in 1982. In the 1970's he appeared before the United States Supreme Court as co-counsel in a successful patent case against the Commissioner of Patents.

A longstanding member of the American Bar Association, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Maryland Patent Law Association, and the Senator's Club Alumni of The Catholic University of America, Mr. Brady has been cited in countless editions of Who's Who over the past 45 plus years, including Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in Finance and Industry, and Who's Who in Science and Engineering. He also holds several patents in the fields of hydraulic crane booms and snowplows. He is the current vice president of Ministr-O-Media Inc. He remains very active in his parish, St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church in Bethesda, MD, and in 2014 was honored jointly with his wife for their services with a Manifesting The Kingdom Award by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington, D.C.

Mr. Brady has been married to his wife, Maureen Mary MacIntosh, for 64 years, with nine children: Rupert Joseph, Jr., Laureen (Stephen) Zegowitz, Kevin (Patricia), Jeanine Patrice (deceased), Warren (Diane), Jeanine Therese (Michael) Hartnett, Jacqueline (David) Rada, Brian (Kelly), and Barton (Lynne).
