Main Activities
Voluntary Repatriation of Ivorian Refugees

On 01 March, 28 households of 103 Ivorian refugees were repatriated back to Cote D’Ivoire from Guinea through the CDI-Guinea’s Border with UNHCR support.

On 03 March, 02 convoys from Togo and Ghana, have arrived in Cote d’Ivoire through the CDI-Ghana’s border.

Since 2015, a total of 29,093 Ivorian refugees have been repatriated, 27,588 of whom from Liberia and 1,505 from other countries (As of March 31st, 2018).
Refugees

As of 31st March 2018, a total of 1,573 refugees and 362 asylum seekers are registered in Cote d’Ivoire.

On 08 March, ASAPSU with the support of UNHCR celebrated International Women’s Day with Refugee Women based in Abidjan; Livelihood and women economic empowerment were the themes discussed.

On 13 March, UNHCR met with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Abidjan to discuss the resettlement of 30 households of 83 potential eligible Liberian refugees.

■ Shelter
- The SAARA (Service d’Aide et d’Assistance aux Refugies et aux Apatrides) in Tabou participated into a commission designed to select beneficiaries of the shelter project implemented by Caritas-CI with UNHCR support in Tabou and its surroundings. 07 households were selected by the commission in charge.
