HMD Arc and HMD 130 Music Launched in Kenya

Human Mobile Devices (HMD), the makers of Nokia phones, has officially rolled out the HMD Arc and HMD 130 Music (also known as Frodo) smartphones in Kenya.
According to HMD, the phones have been designed with the Kenyan consumer in mind, offering affordability, durability, and practicality for everyday life.
The phones are available for purchase from select retailers and online stores across the country.

In line with HMD’s strategy, the HMD Arc features a self-repairable design that allows users to replace the battery or screen with minimal training.
It comes with a 6.52-inch HD+ (576 x 1,280 pixels) LCD screen that offers a 60Hz refresh rate, 20:9 aspect ratio, and 460 nits peak brightness level. The phone measures 166.4 x 76.9 x 8.95mm and weighs just 185.4g.
The HMD Arc is powered by a Unisoc 9863A chipset paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage, which can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. It runs on Android 14 (Go Edition). HMD says the smartphone will receive two years of quarterly security updates.
For the cameras, the HMD Arc sports a 13-megapixel primary rear camera with autofocus and a 5-megapixel camera at the front for selfies and video calls. The camera supports features such as bokeh, night mode, professional mode, slow motion, quick snapshot, filters, time-lapse, and panorama among others..
The HMD Arc smartphone packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 10W wired charging. We are also getting a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, virtual RAM support, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor.

For those who love music and prefer a simple, reliable phone, HMD says this phone, also known as Frodo, brings together style, sound, and everyday durability.
This phone, which is HMD’s first designed feature phone in the Kenyan market, has a powerful loudspeaker for crystal-clear audio and a built-in MP3 player and FM radio that works with or without earphones.
HMD 130 Music has a long battery life of up to 1 month of standby from a single charge.
