Brookland, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — April 7, 2025 — Haag Brown Commercial announced Monday a successful closing of a 5.32-acre commercial site along Highway 49 in Brookland.

According to a news release from the company, the property, adjacent to Taco Bell and Jordan’s Kwik Stop, was purchased by local entrepreneur Jason Gazaway from a long-time Haag Brown portfolio client.

Gazaway, in partnership with Ivey Herren, Jr., plans to develop the site into a retail center. The development will include Herren Tire Service’s third location and bring national chain Domino’s Pizza into the Brookland market for the first time. Plans also include space for a drive-thru coffee shop and additional quick-service restaurant and retail opportunities.

“The momentum in Brookland is undeniable. With major regional and national players already investing in the area, we wanted to be part of that wave. Herren Tire and Domino’s needed high-visibility locations—and we believe others will too. That’s why we secured additional space to support the community’s ongoing growth,” said Gazaway said in the release.

“Our team has been incredibly active in Brookland over the past several years, and this project is a direct result of that focus,” said Joshua Brown, cofounder of Haag Brown Commercial. “We’re proud of our brokerage team for their work on this deal and others in the area, and we want to congratulate Jason on what we believe will be a great retail development for the community.”

Brookland’s population has grown by over 12% since 2021, with annual growth currently outpacing much of the region, the release said. Recent investments along Hwy 49 — including the $400 million NEA Baptist Healthcare campus and the Central Baptist Church – Paragould Campus — have brought national brands like McDonald’s, Harps, and Dollar Tree to the city.

With enrollment climbing, the Brookland School District broke ground on a new intermediate school in March. New housing developments are also underway, stretching the city’s borders as more residents call Brookland home.

The news release did not specify when development would begin.
