Manchester City could be in line for a special edition kit ahead of this summer's FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, if recent reports are anything to go by.

Pep Guardiola's side will be one of 32 teams from across the globe battling it out for the trophy, which will follow a new and expanded format for the first time this year. City won the previous edition of the tournament in 2023 and their triumph in the Champions League that same year ensured they are one of the UEFA representatives at the freshly re-formatted competition, which will take place across June and July.

City have been drawn into group G, with the 32 teams split into eight groups of four. Serie A giants Juventus, Moroccan side Wydad AC and United Arab Emirates outfit Al Ain FC make up the remainder of City's group.

As anticipation for the tournament builds., reports suggest kit manufacturer Puma will provide a special edition shirt for each of its clubs ahead of the tournament. That's according to Footy Headlines, who claim that German side Borussia Dortmund will launch a FIFA Club World Cup shirt.

In that same article, it has been suggested that all Puma teams will receive special shirts for the tournament. That will be seven teams in total, including City, Dortmund, RB Salzburg, Al-Hilal and Palmeiras.

The report adds that Dortmund's kit will be available from late May or early June ahead of the tournament, so it is likely the other clubs will follow suit. The colours and design of the kits are currently unknown at this stage.

For City, the immediate focus is on finishing the 2024/25 season in the best way possible. The hunt for a top four finish is still a priority, while they still have a chance to secure silverware in the form of the FA Cup.

Once the domestic season concludes, Guardiola and his players will shift their attention to the Club World Cup. Their first group game against Wydad AC will take place on Wednesday, June 18.
