Ramdeobaba University registers 270 patents in 3 years
Nagpur: Ramdeobaba University (RBU) has achieved a remarkable milestone with 270 Indian patents granted, 610 patents published and 300 copyrights registered, culminating in 990 IPRs filed during the past three years. Vice-chancellor Rajesh Pandey affirmed this accomplishment is presumably the highest by any institution in central India.
The patents span across numerous domains, including phosphor-based solid-state lighting, biomedical instruments, AI-driven supply chain system automation solutions, and 5G technology. The university's robust research and innovation ecosystem facilitates faculty-student collaboration on industry-driven projects, Pandey said.
RBU established the RCOEM Technology Business Incubator, which has nurtured over 60 start-ups, he said. "Several ventures have secured funding from various entities, including the department of science and technology, ministry of electronics and information technology, ministry of MSME, 100x VC, and Shark Tank," he said.
The RGSTC-MSME Innovation Programme, funded by Rajiv Gandhi Science and Technology Commission, has provided technological support to more than 120 enterprises, yielding over 100 cost-effective technology solutions.
The university incorporates innovation into its curriculum through courses in creativity, design thinking, innovation, and entrepreneurship. RBU, a self-financed private university operated by Shri Ramdeobaba Sarvajanik Samiti, functions under the guidance of chairman Satyanarayan Nuwal, he said.
