Tata Motors showcased the updated Avinya X concept at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 and now the Indian automobile manufacturer has patented the EV’s steering wheel. The Avinya will be Tata’s luxury EV SUV, which is expected to make its debut in 2026.
Tata Avinya: New Steering Wheel
The patent image of the Avinya shows that it sports a brand-new two-spoke steering wheel. It remains the same as the concept showcased earlier by the automaker. Being the new luxury range of Tata Motors, the leather-wrapped steering wheel sports the name Avinya. The two-tone steering wheel has controls for the infotainment system and calls on the left while the right side houses have safety functions like ADAS.
Tata Avinya: Design and Features
The Avinya boasts a coupe-like design with a completely enclosed front grill with sweeping LED DLRs running above it. The concept boasts 22-inch alloy wheels with plush door handles. The tail lights are designed like the DRLs in front with an all-black bumper.
The dual-tone cabin gets a large infotainment system, a panoramic roof and ambient lights emerge above the air condition vents. The vehicle is expected to be equipped with Level 2 ADAS, V2L and V2V features.
Tata Motors has not revealed the specifications of the Avinya, but it is expected to offer a range of 500 km on a single charge. The Avinya will be available in two drivetrains — rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.
