While TVS hasn’t confirmed a launch timeline for the RTR 300, we expect it to hit the roads by the end of this year.

TVS has diversified its motorcycle portfolio into many different segments but the company is yet to develop an adventure tourer carrying its own brand name. This is set to change when TVS brings out its first ADV in the form of the Apache RTX 300. A trademark for this nameplate was filed a while ago and test mules of this motorcycle have been spied on multiple occasions in recent months.

Now, the Hosur-based bikemaker has filed a design patent for the upcoming adventure tourer, revealing more about the bike’s looks. The RTX 300 will be based on a brand new platform developed by TVS to accommodate its new engine showcased at MotoSoul 2024.

TVS Apache RTX 300: Design, Specs, & Features

The patent is in line with the spy shots of the RTX 300 leaked earlier. The motorcycle features a tall windshield, twin LED headlamps, LED turn indicators, and an LED tail light, complemented by a semi-faired body up front, a rear tyre hugger, a muscular fuel tank, split pillion grab rails with an integrated luggage rack, and chunky engine sump guard.

In terms of hardware, the motorcycle is likely built on a trellis frame, featuring fully adjustable upside-down front forks, a monoshock at the rear, and a raised handlebar. It appears to stand on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels that should be wrapped with dual-purpose tyres, unlike the slicks shown in the patent. The Apache RTX 300 is expected to come standard with a dual-channel ABS system, switchable rear ABS, and multiple ride modes.

Other features expected to be offered include a smart TFT display with connectivity via Bluetooth and TVS’ SmartXonnect application, turn-by-turn navigation, and a USB charging port.

TVS Apache RTX 300: Powertrain

The Apache RTX 300 will utilise the new 300cc liquid-cooled unit built from the scratch. This unit is capable of producing 34.5 bhp at 9,000 rpm and 28.5 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. The engine will be paired with a six-speed gearbox with a slip and assist clutch. The powertrain will also benefit from ride-by-wire technology, meaning it can have ride modes and cruise control.
