Dr. Malphurs selected portions of the Affordable Care Act (“Obamacare”) oral arguments to offer viewers a never before seen look inside the Court’s process. Supreme Court oral arguments offer limited seating to the public but do not allow television cameras or radio broadcast—making accessibility challenging for the general public or Courtwatchers. GoAnimate’s platform enables subscribers to use their character sketches and backgrounds to create their own animations. Dr. Malphurs envisions educators using the platform to teach students about Supreme Court oral arguments; he hopes news organizations re-create oral arguments for the lay public; and he looks forward to the day the Supreme Court offers the American public a live televised view of oral arguments.
