England Under-21s warm up for their Euro 2019 qualifier against Ukraine with a friendly against Romania at Molineux on Saturday (kick-off 5.15pm).

The match has been named the Cyrille Regis International in honour of the former England, West Brom and Wolves striker who died earlier this year.

After facing Romania, England then turn their attentions to Ukraine on Tuesday as they look to continue their promising start to Euro 2019 qualifying.

England are five points clear at the top of Group Four, having taken 13 points from five games.

Manager Aidy Boothroyd said: "I've picked Romania because they're a lot like Ukraine so we've done the training as if we're preparing for one game.

Boothroyd says he has been impressed by Tammy Abraham and Dominic Solanke's attitude after they were released back to his squad by Gareth Southgate

"They are doing well in their group and are the sort of team, like a Slovakia, who might just sneak in there."

Fulham's Ryan Sessegnon and Liverpool's Ovie Ejaria could make their England U21 debuts in the meeting with Romania.

However, Harry Winks and Mason Holgate have been forced to withdraw due to injuries.

There were also concerns over goalkeepers Angus Gunn and Freddie Woodman after they suffered minor injuries in training, but both are expected to be available on Saturday.

England U21 boss Aidy Boothroyd is thrilled to have Iffy Onuora working alongside him as part of the FA's BAME coach initiative

Boothroyd said: "Because they're both goalkeepers we've taken them out of the firing line, as a precaution. I'm hoping both will be fine."

If the duo do not make it then Manchester United's Dean Henderson, who is on loan at Shrewsbury, could start.

Boothroyd hopes his side can pay tribute to Regis by impressing against Romania.

"I didn't get to know him until after he finished playing. I always found him to be a charming man, quietly spoken, who will be sorely missed," he said.

"Hopefully our number nines can score a couple of worldie goals which can pay tribute to him."
