Hiker goes missing near Mt. Hood Natl. Forest

WILDWOOD, Ore. – Search and rescue teams are looking for a hiker who went missing near the Mount Hood National Forest, the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said.

Nathan Mitchell’s vehicle was found in the Wildwood Recreation Area on Saturday. Officials said he was planning a day hike.

The 34-year-old Mitchell is described as about 5-foot 8-inches tall and weighing 130 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark blue/gray plaid Pendleton wool shirt, a black Columbia Sportswear rain jacket, brown hiking boots and a black backpack.
