Percentage of residents with non-citizenship status in Latvia down to 11.4% in 2017

The proportion of non-citizen residents of Latvia reduced to 11.4% at the beginning of this year, reports LETA, according to the Central Statistical Bureau.

In comparison, the number of non-citizen residents of Latvia was at 13.2% in 2013, and at 21.2% in 2000.

 

According to the CSB, Latvia's population was at 1.95 million, including 222,847 persons with non-citizen status.

 

The largest proportion of non-citizens residing in Latvia is in the 60 and over age group - 20.8%, while the proportion of non-citizen residents in the 19 and under age group is at 1.7% of the total number of persons in this age group.
