Yes, Alabama is still No. 1 in both polls

After trouncing Vanderbilt on Saturday, Alabama held steady at the top of both the Associated Press and Amway/USA Today coaches polls

On Saturday, the Tide authored a dominating performance, beating the Commodores 59-0.

Alabama (4-0) produced 677 yards of total offense and held Vanderbilt to only three first downs.

After a sluggish performance the previous week in an 18-point victory over Colorado State, Clemson gained some ground in both polls by claiming more first-place votes in each poll. But the Tigers had two fewer first-place votes in the latest edition of the coaches poll, which featured six SEC teams. And they had seven fewer in the AP rankings.

The Tide led the AP Poll with 52 first-place votes. Clemson had eight and Oklahoma one.
