The owner of more than 30 Budgens stores is to close them after administrators failed to find buyers.
In total, 815 workers will lose their jobs just nine months after Food Retailer Operations Limited (FROL) bought 34 of the stores from the Co-op.
But it brought in PwC as administrator last month after experiencing 'difficult trading conditions'.
However, the accountancy firm has failed to find a buyer for the group.
Twenty-two stores have been closed so far with another 12 set to be closed by Thursday, affecting 319 jobs.
The Budgens brand is owned by food wholesale company Booker and is being taken over by Tesco.
